This studio fashion photography session was photographed by Ben Welsh, professional fashion photographer and founder of Ben Welsh Photography, in my photography studio in Tarifa, Cádiz, in the south of Spain. The project was created for Chica Mala, a contemporary fashion brand from the Netherlands, known for its clean design, confidence, and modern aesthetic.

The client’s brief was clear from the beginning: to create fashion images with soft, bright lighting, natural skin tones, and a timeless look that would work perfectly for branding, websites, social media, lookbooks, and online campaigns. This lighting approach is ideal for professional fashion photography, allowing garments to stand out while maintaining a refined and elegant visual identity.

Experienced Fashion Model in Studio

The model for this shoot is Yara, an experienced fashion model originally from Russia and currently based in Marbella, Spain. Her strong presence and confidence in front of the camera made it possible to move fluidly between dynamic full-body poses and more refined studio portraits. Her experience played a key role in creating a consistent visual narrative throughout the session.

Professional Makeup for Commercial Fashion Photography

Makeup was created by Clayton, one of the leading makeup artists from the Netherlands. The makeup style was kept clean and natural, designed specifically for commercial fashion photography, where the goal is to enhance the model’s features without overpowering the styling or lighting. This approach works especially well in studio shoots with soft, controlled light.
