Creative Fashion Photography in Tarifa | Javi Moreno at Punta Paloma

For this fashion photography shoot with Javi Moreno (@mr.javimoreno), we wanted to create something different: a series where fashion, creativity and landscape come together to produce images with a strong visual identity.

We chose the spectacular Punta Paloma sand dunes in Tarifa for their minimalist landscape, beautiful shapes and natural light. The sand, blue sky and huge open space allowed us to work almost as if we were in a studio, but with nature providing the backdrop.

Fashion, creativity and a touch of surrealism

The concept was to move away from a conventional beach fashion shoot. We wanted the photographs to feel more adventurous, combining movement, expression, humour and a slightly surreal character.

Javi's all-black styling was an important part of the visual concept. His silhouette creates a powerful contrast against the warm sand and clear blue Tarifa sky, giving the photographs a clean, contemporary and graphic quality.

We then introduced unexpected elements, including a wooden chair and a kite, using them as part of the compositions rather than simply as props. Giving Javi freedom to interact with these objects created spontaneous moments and allowed us to move beyond traditional fashion poses.

Fashion photography with a story

One of the things that interests me most about fashion photography and creative portraiture is creating an image that isn't dependent only on the clothes or the appearance of the model.

I like photographs with personality that make the viewer curious: an unusual pose, a gesture, movement or an object appearing somewhere unexpected.

In this series, the enormous empty landscape of the dunes contrasts with Javi's energy and movement. Some images are more elegant, while others are deliberately playful and slightly absurd, but they all belong to the same visual concept.

Punta Paloma as a location for fashion photography

As a professional fashion photographer based in Tarifa, working outdoors gives me access to some of the most spectacular locations on the Costa de la Luz.

The Punta Paloma dunes are particularly interesting for fashion and editorial photography because they provide a beautifully clean natural setting where I can work with the shapes of the sand, shadows, wind and the distinctive light of Tarifa.

From my photography studio in Tarifa, I work on fashion photography, creative portraits, editorial shoots, personal branding and commercial photography, combining studio work with outdoor productions in Punta Paloma, Valdevaqueros, Los Lances and other locations along the Costa de la Luz.
