Fashion Photography in Tarifa – Muchachomalo Photoshoot in Studio and at Los Lances Beach

Last week I had the pleasure of working on a two-day fashion photoshoot in Tarifa for the Dutch clothing brand Muchachomalo. The production combined primarily professional studio fashion photography with a small series of outdoor lifestyle images captured near Los Lances Beach, one of the most iconic locations on the Costa de la Luz in Cádiz, southern Spain.

Most of the shoot took place in my professional photography studio in Tarifa, where we created a series of clean and powerful fashion images using carefully controlled lighting. To complement the studio work and add a different atmosphere to the campaign, we also stepped outside for a short walk to the beach to capture some lifestyle imagery in natural sunlight.

The result was a balanced visual campaign combining high-end studio photography with natural outdoor fashion imagery.

Professional Fashion Photography in My Tarifa Studio

Although Tarifa is famous for its beaches and spectacular landscapes, studio photography remains a fundamental part of many professional fashion productions.

For this campaign, the majority of the images were created inside my fully equipped photography studio in Tarifa, allowing us to work with complete control over the lighting, shadows, and overall aesthetic of the images.

Studio fashion photography offers several advantages for brands:

During the shoot we used different lighting setups to sculpt the models’ features and emphasize the textures and fit of the Muchachomalo garments. The minimalist studio background ensured that the attention remained entirely on the models and the clothing.

The Models: Scott and Samuel

The shoot featured two professional models: Scott and Samuel.

Scott, with his blond hair and relaxed style, brought a natural lifestyle energy to the images. Samuel, with darker features and a strong presence in front of the camera, added intensity and character to the editorial portraits.

Both models worked very naturally during the session, moving smoothly between strong editorial poses and more relaxed lifestyle expressions. Their professionalism and energy helped create a diverse set of images while maintaining a cohesive visual identity for the campaign.

Fashion photography is always a collaboration between the photographer, the models, and the creative direction, and the chemistry during this shoot made the process very dynamic and productive.

Lifestyle Images at Los Lances Beach

While the studio images formed the core of the campaign, the client also wanted a small selection of lifestyle images outdoors.

One of the advantages of my studio location is that Los Lances Beach is only a few minutes away. This makes it easy to combine studio production with outdoor photography during the same shoot.

With the Atlantic sunlight, blue skies, palm trees, and the relaxed coastal atmosphere of Tarifa, we captured a series of images that add movement and natural energy to the campaign.

The outdoor photographs contrast beautifully with the studio portraits, creating a richer visual narrative.

Tarifa as a Location for Fashion Photography

Tarifa has become an increasingly attractive destination for fashion photography and visual productions.

Located at the southernmost point of mainland Europe, where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean, Tarifa offers an extraordinary combination of landscapes and natural light.

For the Muchachomalo shoot, we used exactly this approach:

Because my studio is located so close to the beach, we were able to move quickly between these two environments.
